  • What weapons did you add to your level and why?

  • For my level, I have added all the weapons listed on the project. The reason why I added all of them was to make players understand how the weapons work and how they can use them to their advantage when playing the level.

  • How did adding weapons affect your level?

  • Adding the weapons has made me think more about the level because with the addition of different weapons, it makes me change up the level and the enemies along with it. For example, the O. Slider weapons can be used as a board to slide through the water and because of that, the O. Sliders can be used in many ways.

  • What went right?

  • Things that went right was the way weapon boxes were scattered because each time when the player enters a new part of the level, there would be one waiting for them to pick up and use it how they want to use it. In the picture, the player has been given a weapon box and after picking it up, it gives them the ability to slide across the level. And because of that, the players were able to slide across the water safely to the next part of the level.

  • What went wrong?

  • Things that went wrong were some parts of the level. Reasons being that I could have implemented and improved in order to make the player experience better. For example, in the level, my playtesters had told me about their experience on this particular part of the level, and from what they told me, there was no point in going across the water because it doesn’t lead anywhere, so they recommend me to either remove it or change it. But my intention for this part of the level was for the player to use their weapons to get to the top part and slide their way to the next part, but due to the design and camera view of this part of the level, it kind of made my intention different.

  • How might you improve your level next time?

  • I can improve this level if I could learn the mechanics of the weapon because playing one of my classmate’s levels, they were able to make use of the O. Slider by sliding on parts of the water with spikes on the bottom, forcing players to jump on water with the O. Slider weapon without touching the spikes. So if I learn the mechanics of the other weapons too, I could make a better improved level. Not just that, maybe if I had made a better level design, that would have probably made more changes and better uses of the weapons that were implemented in the level.

  • Were the challenges presented appropriate to the skill level of the player?

  • I would say it is appropriate to the skill level of the player but maybe a little too easy since I wanted players to experience the weapons I implemented into the level.
